


Leadership Team Job Descriptions
Must have at least 1 year of experience in the Kennedy Singers Program

President - Duties
-
Create agendas and run weekly (or biweekly) officer meetings
-
Acts as a liaison between the Choir Program, Parent Boosters, Kennedy Admin Administration, and Associated Student Body Leadership
-
Establish means of communication with all officers.
-
Encourages the Choir Leadership and holds them accountable to expectations
-
Organizes raffle sales & intermission announcements at shows
-
Informs all class officers of announcements that need to be made each week
-
Acts as a liaison to strengthen communication between Ms. West and the class
Vice President: Social Chair - Duties
-
Assist the President in all his/her responsibilities
-
Run Officer meetings in place of the President if needed
-
Head of the Publicity Committee: posting on social media
-
Facilitate both on-campus and community advertising
-
Help create posters, flyers, and videos
-
Update and create a list of Alumni to contact regarding our upcoming events
-
Responsible for delegating tasks to committee members, creating deadlines, and following up to ensure completion
-
Oversee advertising for all “Entire Cast” events such as the Broadway Show, Pop Show, Festival, Major Works, etc.
-
Work with Information and technology Committee to update social media platforms and website
-
Hang up posters at least 2 weeks prior to the event

Create a video for social media and website (Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, etc.)

Work with Secretary to create Senior Slideshow and end of the year slideshow


Treasurer - Duties
-
Communicate with the Booster Club, attend all booster club meetings and report to the team

Assists with all fundraisers, including items arriving, distributing, and the deposit of sales
-
Plan, organize, and run on-campus and off-campus fundraisers
-
Responsible for completing fundraising forms
-
Create a budget / wish list for the year
-
Create fundraising goals
-
Prepare monthly and annual budget reports from the ASB account (not boosters account)
-
Count and record funds and relay to the Booster Club
-
Work with Booster Treasurer to prepare cash boxes for ticket sales & fundraisers
-
Works with the Executive Board to organize and operate Choir fundraisers
-
Works with the Executive Board to organize and operate fall merchandise sales
Secretary - Duties
-
Keeps a calendar of all deadlines for committees
-
Type all meeting notes and share in Google drive folder with officers and Ms. West
-
Who attended, major items of discussion

All issues voted upon

Start & end time of meeting
-
Distribute minutes to Google drive office folder
-
Choral Library Duties
-
Pass out and collect music
-
Help file & organize music (keep track of those who did not turn in)

Create a calendar for the year with meetings, workdays, deadlines, shows, etc.

Assist in the day-to-day running of the class by organizing music, costumes, music library, etc
-
Assist with attendance and paperwork items
-
Create a senior slideshow and end of the year slideshow


Stage Manager - Duties
-
Keeps a list of all pops & costumes needed for performances
-
Completes tech sheets for each class for each number
-
Helps to transport equipment and props from JFK to performance
-
Organizes all props and equipment (mics, etc) backstage during performances
-
Assists with giving cues for entrances and exits during performances
-
Assists with tear down after the shows
-
Knows special effects and lighting equipment
-
Helps any tech set up with the band
-
Has a team of helpers that he/she is responsible for
Choreography Assistant - Duties
-
Stand in the front and help assist when a guest choreographer comes
-
Helps clarify movement
-
Creates choreography for 1 entire number (including blocking) in the spring pop show
-
Assists with special solo dances (ie: O Holy Night)
-
Organize a clean-up crew for all shows and activities


Class Officers - Duties
-
Plan and execute bonding/social events for their class
-
Communicates with Ms. West for scheduling and budget activities (2 weeks prior)
-
Organize a Parent Booster/Volunteer thank you after each show
-
Communicate weekly with each class about upcoming events (remind the class via the band app)
-
Planning and executing activities or all choir events (ie: camp beach party, camp preview caroling, awards banquet)
-
Actively engages in the breaking up of cliques and creating opportunities for students to get to know other people in the class
-
Be in charge of the class birthday list
-
Holiday events (Thanksgiving & Christmas)
-
Organize the choir buddy program
-
Officers of each class work together to plan “Entire Class” events such as Choir Camp bonfire, pen pals, stage tours, choir caroling, and end of year awards
Class Dance Captains - Duties
-
Lead dance warmups when needed
-
Stand in the front to demo when learning new choreography (unless otherwise placed)
-
Schedule make-up sessions for absent students
-
Assist with Choreography memory checks, cleaning, and clarifying
-
Responsible to communicate missing students with choreographers
-
Records and posts videos to Google drive & band app with any updates
-
Possible opportunity to choreograph a song for the spring pop show
-
Help with costumes (collections, distributions, etc)


Class Section Leaders - Duties
-
Responsible to make sure everyone has music, making copies when necessary
-
Coordinate with Ms. West to organize and run monthly sectional rehearsals
-
Work with librarian to file music when we’re finished with it
-
Be prepared to lead vocal warm-ups when necessary
-
Facilitate monthly memory checks
-
Know your part and be a vocal leader
-
Take role in your section and check before a concert, make sure they have the correct attire, shoes, etc
Hip-Hop Club President - Duties
-
Attend all Kennedy Singers officer meetings
